How To Repair Windows (Damaged Windows)

Windows Repair


1. Fixing Installation (Repair Install)

If Your Windows XP corrupted and You don't have any operating system for booting, you can do Installation Repair (Repair Install), that will make Your Computer back to working as it like a fresh copy of Windows XP.

* You make sure that you have a Valid Windows XP Key

* Entirely processes will spend time more or less a half or 1 hours, depends on Your computer.

* If You asked to type the Administrator Password, You must choose the Second Repair Option that appear secondly.. not the first Repair Option that appear

* Insert Your Windows XP CD and does booting from that CD.

* When the Second Repair Option appear.. press R = Repair, this will began the Repair Installation

* Press F8 to agree the next process I Agree At The Licensing Agreement ”.

* Press R while Windows XP to the installed Windows XP directory. Usually “C:\WINDOWS then it will copy the files to the drive C. then it will be auto-restarting when it done.. just let the CD on the CD-ROM drive

* Next You will see a Progress Bar that become a part of the Installation Progress.. then a message like “Collecting Information, Dynamic Update, Preparing Installation, Installing Windows, Finalizing Installation” shows up.. choose NEXT

* You will be asked to insert the key.. (Your Windows XP Key that valid)

* Your normally want to stay at the same domain name or same Workgroup.

* Your Computer will be restart. Then You will have same display as it were system activation just like the normal installation.

* Register if You want it (usually doesn't be required). All through.


2. NTOSKRNL Corrupted Or Missing :

If You got some error message that “ NTOSKRNL Not Found ”

* Insert Windows XP CD and booting from that CD.

* When first Repair Option is appear press R button..

* type a number that suitable to your XP Installation Directory that appear on the screen.. usually number 1..

* Move to the CD Drive's (e.g: E)

* type: CD i386

* type: expand ntkrnlmp.exc:\Windows\System32\ntoskrnl. exe

* If Your Windows XP are installed else where, juts change to its location.

* Eject Your CD and type EXIT.


3. HAL.DLL Damaged or Lost (Missing or Corrupt)

If You get an error message that wrecks or a loss file HAL.DLL, maybe its because a false comfiguration of file BOOT.INI (misconfigured).

* Insert Your Windows XP CD and booting from that CD.

* When first Repair Option is appear press R button..

* Type a number that suitable to your XP Installation Directory that appear on the screen.. usually number 1..

* type: bootcfg / list In function to feature content / entry on BOOT.INI file.

* type: bootcfg / rebuild In function to fix configuration of BOOT.INI'S file.

* Eject Your CD and type EXIT.


4. Directory \WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\CONFIG Corrupted or get Lost

If You get error message:

” Windows could not start because the following files is missing or corrupt : \WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\CONFIG\SYSTEM or \WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\CONFIG\SOFTWARE”

* Insert Your Windows XP CD and booting from that CD.

* When first Repair Option is appear press R button..

* Type a number that suitable to your XP Installation Directory that appear on the screen.. usually number 1..

* Insert Administrator Password if necessary.

* type: CD \windows\system32\config.

* Next depends on which part that had a damage.

* type: ren software software.broken OR ren system system.broken

* next again also depending to the part that had a damage.

* type: copy \windows\repair\system

* type: copy \windows\repair\software

* Eject the CD and type EXIT.


5. NTLDR or NTDETECT.COM not Found

If You get Error Message like as above:

FAT Partition

Please do booting from Your Windows98 Boot Disk and copy the NTLDR or NTDETECT.com from your i386 direcory to the root of drive C:\

NTFS Partition

* Insert Your Windows XP CD and booting from that CD.
*
When first Repair Option is appear press R button..
*
Type a number that suitable to your XP Installation Directory that appear on the screen.. usually number 1..
* Insert
Administrator Password if necessary.
*
Insert following instruction, where x: is of Your CD-ROM Drive (Suiting To Your Drive).

* type: COPY x:\i386\NTLDR C\:

* type: COPY x:\i386\NTDETECT. COM C:\

* Eject Your CD and type EXIT
